As pool professionals one of our highest priorities is the safety of pool owners, their families and guests. As stated earlier, this begins with proper water chemistry, but aside from that, there often are many overlooked issues that can pose a great danger to pool-users and anyone around the pool.

On December 20, 2007 the "Virginia Grahame Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act (HR6-303 to309 Title XIV-Pool and Spa Safety)," was signed into law requiring conformance to entrapment protection standards. Many pool owners are unaware of this new law and the entrapment dangers posed by not making the necessary changes in order to comply with the new law.
